Dragon Age: Inquisition in UNREAL ENGINE 5 – Emprise du Lion Pt.4 – Suledin Keep: A UE5 Cinematic

This is that quiet, archway-snow-laden scene from Suledin Keep in Emprise du Lion. Changed the lighting a bit though, to make it pop a little bit more.

This is for my ‘Thedas Magic Mystery World Tour’ where I’m re-creating little cinematics from the game Dragon Age: Inquisition in Unreal Engine 5! Mostly because it’s a more fun way of learning UE5 and getting the hang of the new features like Lumen and Nanite.

Absolute World Postion node + Material Functions were used to texture assets in-engine. This allowed for a far quicker iteration and flexibility when placing assets, as the Absolute World Positon node is contextual per-mesh instance.

The character is ‘Yin’ from the Epic Marketplace – those Paragon characters? They’re fully rigged and animated – so super easy to drop them in the scene for scale. She looks Dragon Age-ish, right? Kind of reminds me more of Hela from Thor. Not sure how to edit the animations though and the Blueprints are all messed up when you import into UE5… still more to learn…
